St. Francis De Sales Public School celebrated World Environment Day on 5th June
2025 with the theme 'Ending Plastic Pollution.' The event was graced by the presence
of Mr. Ullas B. S., the Director of Gandhi Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bangalore
University.
The ceremony started with a traditional welcome, and the school band respectfully
escorting the dignitaries to the stage. The event began with a soulful prayer song,
followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp.
Following the lighting of the lamp, Mr. Ullas addressed the gathering with a powerful
message, urging students to avoid the use of plastic and emphasizing the importance
of preserving and cleaning our natural environment. Rev. Fr. Binoy felicitated Dr.
Ullas in appreciation of his valuable presence and inspiring words.
The four houses presented a street play titled 'Voice of the Voiceless,' which effectively
conveyed the harmful impact of plastic on the earth and highlighted the urgent need to
protect and preserve nature for a healthier and better future.
Mr. Ullas B. S. and Rev. Fr. Binoy planted a sapling in the school courtyard as a
symbolic gesture of their commitment to environmental conservation and love for
nature.
The programme concluded with the National Anthem, leaving the students with a
strong message about the importance of a healthy environment for a better quality of
life.
