Kannada Rajyotsava and Ethnic Day 2021

On 1st of November 2021 children and staff members under the guidance of Rev. Fr. Jabamalai, Principal of St. Francis De Sales Public School, ICSE & ISC, Electronics City, Bangalore, celebrated Karnataka Rajyotsava with great fervour and splendour.

Karnataka Rajyotsava which is also called - Kannada Day, or Karnataka Formation Day - is observed on 1 November every year to commemorate the day when Kannada dominant regions in South India merged together as one to form the state of Karnataka.

The day began with the Chief guest of the event, Dr. H S Satyanarayan hoisting the Karnataka State flags (red and yellow) followed by the chanting of the Kannada anthem (Jaya Bharatha Jananiya Tanujate). The celebrations also included carrying of multi-coloured tableaux along with performances of the children on folk songs with and classical Carnatic music. The serene atmosphere rendered by the musical and dance performance by students was commendable. The festivities also included the presentation of award to the students.

The message from Dr H S Satyanarayan gave a chance to the children to understand the efforts made by people in order to conserve the rich cultural heritage of Karnataka. The divine responsibility to guide and enlighten the children was later done by our Principal Rev. Fr. Jabamalai who emphasised on the determination and sincerity of children who would shape the destiny of the state as they are laying the foundation and the building blocks of the society.

As the programme culminated to its end the entire school was suffused in a festive look of joy and pride and these words aptly defines the aura of the evening.

Freedom in mind, Strength in words, the pureness in our blood, Pride in our souls, Zeal in Our hearts, Lets salute the spirit of Karnataka.

Ethnic Day 2021

“Diversity makes the world more beautiful…!”

Unity in diversity – well, that summarizes the entire thought! In the era of modernization when most of the people are moving away from their own culture and history, events like Ethnic Day enable the young generation to revive love and respect for their own culture and history. Ethnicity plays a major role in moulding the personality of the child. This year, our school celebrated the ‘Ethnic day’ on 1st November, 2021 with grandeur.

Grade 1 students were provided with an opportunity to celebrate the diversity of vibrant and colourful India. They performed folk dances of different states such as Kerala, Karnataka, Punjab and Goa depicting the culture and tradition of respective states. Their attire looked simply amazing as they collectively displayed an array of colours that reflected the diversity of India. It was a moment of great joy and pride as we all stood united to celebrate the spirit of Indian tradition and oneness.

Indeed, it was a day of joy for all, a day to show our love for the nation.
